As we strive for the full implementation of the TRC Recommendations, my director and I had a strategic meeting with Amb. Hubert J. Jager to discuss ways in which the people of the Federal Republic of Germany can contribute to the Transitional Justice process of Liberia. In order to transform our fragile peace onto a stable and lasting one, there are several measures that must be put in place, starting with addressing and putting an end to the culture of impunity. People must pay for their crimes meted against the Liberian people, and the only way to do it is by affording them the opportunity to due process, “Establishment of the War Crimes Court”.
